Jared grew up in Joplin, Missouri and graduated from Joplin High School. He attended Missouri Southern State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Criminal Justice and an Associate of Science Degree in Law Enforcement.
Subsequently, he obtained a Juris Doctor Degree in 2002 from the University of Tulsa Law School, where he focused his studies in estate planning, contracts and criminal law .

Denny attended the University of Kansas School of Law where he earned an Excellence in Achievement Award for his studies in Public Lands and Natural Resources and obtained a Juris Doctor Degree in 2000.
